| H.M.S. Wallflower was one of several 'flower' class Corvettes allocated for purchase by
the French Navy. She was ordered from Smith's Dock Company Limited of Middlesborough on 31st August 1939. The order
was taken over by the Royal Navy on July 14th 1940 after the fall of France. She was laid down on July 23rd and launched on November 14th 1940. She was completed on March 7th 1941. Completed working up trials between March 16th and April 2nd 1941. |
